Exhibition of 'vanity' of Design by Denise Claudel

From 15 October to 6 November, the garden presents the paintings and objects designed by Denise Claudel. Vosges artist, she works the fabric and, echoing the Holbein painting "The Ambassadors", creates a work on the theme of vanities where skulls prevail joyful and modern animal and plant motifs. A hymn to enjoy life that has nothing macabre.
His canvases stretched assemble fabric patterns with obvious pleasure of gambling on materials, cuts, prints and ... false pretenses. Collage? Couture? False sewing? Painting? She plays and thwarts our sensations. Show / hide, sewn / stuck
, point-bourdon/fausse sewing, presence / absence, life / death / Sailing unveiled. It collects items not know if the cutouts draw floral elements, algae and human skulls.
The exhibition presents two facets of his work: work on chassis and extended in design objects. Like contemporary artists such as Isabelle Jousset or Elaine Bradford, she transforms her paintings into screens, headboards and tablecloths.

maples in the garden: Acer shirasawanum 'Aureum'

Japanese maples are among our favorites. We offer a wide choice of varieties for the garden, terraces or conduct in bonsai.
With the fall is a colorful festival that starts.
There are still some copies of the Acer shirasawanum 'Aureum' Golden or maple. It is a rarity in Japan, found among some producers. The tree is native to the mountains of Honshu and Shikoku and its port is a model Thanksgiving with small lobed leaves (3 to 4 cm) arranged like fans. Small (3m), and slow growth, very elegant, it illuminates the garden foliage yellow / green in summer. An exhibition makes it clear to a reddish hue with the month of October. But beware of the sun that would roast the leaves. It is an ideal tree for Northern France and the clouds! Especially since it is hardy to -20 °.
exposure to semi-shade in humus soil is ideal.
In spring, the Acer shirasawanum 'Aureum' produces small yellow flowers in clusters that become erect samaras red contrast beautifully with foliage.

planting autumn bulbs to the garden

plantations fall in full swing. The garden has just received the bulbs that light up next spring. Tulips, hyacinths, crocuses, but also some rare beauties in our gardens and we pack. Quick overview of our favorites.
Starting with Muscari macrocarpum 'Golden Fragrance' which offers an unusual yellow staining mainly topped with a touch of violets few bells. Plant slow to reproduce and therefore to market, it lends itself easy to pot culture.

lovers of botanical may be crossed or Martagon lily Lilium Martagon in the wild in a forest south of France or the Alps. It is very fragrant and easy to grow in slightly acidic soil, rich and well drained. Its flowers are pink with six petals, flecked with red. At maturity, the petals curl up and droop six beautiful orange stamens.

Spectacular, lilies or cattails steppes of Cleopatra, their scientific name Eremurus are tuberous perennials with their majestic tall stems well furnished with flowers pastels. Here Eremurus robustus in pink ears, is the largest of all (up to 3m). Came from Central Asia (Turkestan), it blossoms in early June flowers light pink to white, borne on an inflorescence Lightweight.

The Eremurus Eremurus Himalaicus or the Himalayas that blooms is the earlier (May). It then produces large spikes of white up to two meters high. Lovers of hot colors and plants may choose less high Eremurus Bungei not exceeding 80 cm hues ranging from yellow to buff and orange.

The blue Camassia leichtlinii here are also white. He slides his pole light among the perennial late spring. Curiosity: the bulb was eaten by the Indians. It naturalizes very easily and discreetly in the garden.
